Tbh, not many Indian startups really impress me lately — most just copy whatever's trending: AI tools, quick delivery, fintech, repeat. But when it comes to AI specifically, the hype feels even more hollow.
Everyone's shouting about 'building India's own AI,' but dig deeper and it's mostly wrappers around existing models or flashy demos. And don't get me started on the delivery startups - they're basically exploiting unemployment, promising gig work while calling it 'empowerment.'
A few teams are trying to build actual foundational models or GPU infrastructure, which is cool in theory. But they're miles away from real success. It's mostly ambition without the technical foundation - great for pitch decks, not so much for actual progress.
I'm glad we've moved beyond just app development, but we're still stuck between imitation and invention. Until we stop chasing headlines and start doing the unglamorous research work, this whole 'revolution' stays more marketing than movement
Blinkit, 10 mins delivery
rest are mostly copy paste
